Socializing your dog is a very important aspect toward having a well-adjusted, well-behaved pet. Of course, it’s also usually fun to take your dog for walks, to the park or even for a ride in the car. But even if you don’t particularly enjoy taking your dog places, it’s still important to get him out of the house, off your property and into the outside world.

Being a well-socialized dog means being your pet should be comfortable with many things in life. In order to avoid behavior problems such as excessive barking, separation anxiety, fear, aggression and many more, your dog should be socialized with people, other dogs, bicycles, joggers, noises, trash cans and as many more things as you can possibly think of.

How does socialization relate to the problems mentioned above? For example, dogs who are comfortable with people, dogs and bikes are less likely to bark excessively when normal neighborhood happenings occur near your house. Dogs who are thoroughly socialized are far less likely to have confidence-related problems such as separation anxiety, fear or aggression.

When taking your dog out for socialization, it is important to handle situations correctly. Remember that whenever you pet a dog, you’re praising a dog. Therefore, if your dog is afraid of something he’s seeing, be sure not to pet him while he’s acting afraid. Instead of feeling soothed, your pet is likely to feel you are reinforcing his fear, as if you’re saying, “Good boy be afraid.” Instead, when your dog acts afraid redirect his behavior to a more relaxed activity such as doing an obedience command, giving paw or playing ball. Then, when he acts more relaxed, that’s the appropriate time to pet and praise.

Interest Check: An artisan in my area makes these metal roses. This one happens to be steel, but he also works with brass and copper. They can also be colored (lacquered?)—I’ve seen them in violet-blue, red, and gold.

The guy usually makes full-size steel roses that he sells for about $70 a pop. He also makes 3” flower pins.

The one I’m wearing measures about 1.25”—I think it’s pretty much an ideal size for a lapel ornament. It’s actually a new size for the guy and a special request from me. The flowers are handmade, so each is unique and no two are alike.

I’m not yet sure exactly how much he’d charge for them, especially since we’d still have to figure out how much it costs to safely ship them. I can say there would be no markup from me as the middle man—I’m just trying to see if there’s any interest in him producing them. Ideally, I’d like to step out of the process entirely. I think you could expect to pay around $20.

We’ve been making kosher dill pickles like Bubbie would make them.  ”FULL SOURS.” Instead of using Alum powder, which is the chemical compound hydrated potassium aluminum sulfate -we use Grenache Grape Leaves from Mud Creek Ranch.  The tannins in the leaves inhibit enzymes that make pickles soft.  Additionally, we remove the blossom end of the pickles - which are the source of undesirable enzymes.

Dog’s chewing problem is very annoying for its owner .Few of my friends are very frustrated with this habit of their puppy .They often ask from others why dogs keep on chewing and how to stop them from doing this ridiculous thing .Through this article I will try to solve the problem of various dog owner who are dealing with same issue.

Next thing you want to make your dog free from this habit of chewing .There are several ways to throw this habit out from the life of your dog .First step is to keep an eye on his chewing habits .Keep all expensive things away from reach of your dog .In few cases ,dogs have only particular likings in case of chewing .For example some dogs only chew furniture while other chew shoes and sleepers .In this case ,try to wrap all those stuff with some non toxic substance having foul smell .This method very rarely works but still there is no harm in using this method .

Try to say firm “no” if he is chewing in front of you .Try to replace it with another chew toy .Proper training and well disciplined behavior also sometime make dogs free from habit of unnecessary chewing .Proper exercise and indulging your dog in playing is must whenever you notice him chewing some stuff .There are several tasty dog chew available in market .Try to provide these stuff to your dog in initial stage so that he may not start chewing other things .Always try to indulge your dog into games or other sort of work because I have noticed that mostly dog chews when they have nothing to do .Some dogs chew when they find themselves alone .So try to spend more and more time with your dog .
